Common test for Covid19
RT-PCR

Reverse Transcriptase – Polymerase Chain Reaction detects the genetic material of the Covid19 virus. Sample: Nasopharyngeal swab (sample collected from nostrils) / oropharyngeal swab (sample collected from the throat). Sensitive, specific, reliable, and the result may take 1-3 days depending on the diagnostic center. Only tests present infection (Neither past nor future infection – i.e., if already cured or haven’t yet developed an infection at the time of sample collection.) Opt for high-risk individuals or symptomatic patients on prescription by a physician. If tested positive, consult your physician and follow advice; if tested negative, keep taking precaution and social distance procedures.
